These serving pieces are impressed with real leaves. The leaves burn out when the piece is fired. After bisque firing these pieces are stained with red iron oxide to accent the veining patterns in the leaves. The piece is then dipped in wax, then in glaze and fired to cone 6. The kinds of leaves are listed on the back of the bowl on removable masking tape for your information.
